My name is Tiffany Wegman and I own River Run Ranch, a small horse ranch in Snyder, Oklahoma. I have been around horses for the majority of my life and have been training horses small scale for the last 8 years. My passion for training started when I was 13 and was given the opportunity to work with a starved, beated, and scared 3 year old mare. I worked with her for hours every day for 3 months. In those 3 months, I took that scared, untouchable baby and had made her sociable and even had a saddle on her back. I was in pure awe of how much she learned and loved watching her grow in confidence each time I worked with her. I was hooked! After training this mare, I was given the opportunity next to study a band of wild mustangs. I was able to learn how they interacted, how the alpha ran the herd, etc., I took this, and what that mare taught me, and began creating my own training methods. Ground work is key in my training; everything on the ground transfers much easier to the saddle then just jumping on and hounding them to understand. With ground work, you build a stronger sense of confidence in the horse as you are at their level, not above them. I want a horse I can work with, not control.
