I always wanted a horse when I was little. I began taking riding lessons when I was 8 and my family got our first horse when I was 9. I have loved working with them ever since. I’ve worked as a side walker or horse leader in therapeutic riding for children with special needs for the past 5 years.
I’ve enjoyed working with my sisters, conditioning our horses for therapeutic riding. Last year, I was blessed to attend a colt-starting clinic for several months and I knew that I wanted to start another horse soon. I am thrilled to be in the challenge this year and am committed to giving my horse the time, patience, love, and attention it needs to be ready for it’s constant home. I think rescued horses deserve a chance to be someone’s forever friend, not an old castaway. I’ve been blessed to have many wonderful mentors teaching me along the way. I love the principles behind natural horsemanship and how the lessons also apply to human life. Two of my favorite Parelli quotes are: “If your horse says ‘no’, you either asked the question wrong, or asked the wrong question.” “A horse doesn’t care how much you know, until he knows how much you care.” Sherrod & Team Sassafras Contact info – email [email protected] Website: www.rightpathridingacademy.org |
